The pleasures of the table

In the province of Lucca thousands of different delicacies can be tasted, each location has something special to offer. Even Giacomo Puccini knew that well and loved food. He often used to go to eat in the local taverns, but sometimes when he hadn’t so much money, the  Maestro himself used to cook new recipes. It seems that he had no problems getting by and experimenting with personal recipes. On the other hand, the important thing was to be able to eat something, as we find in one of his writings: "I eat quite badly, but I feed myself with soups... And my stomach is satisfied".
