The exhibition dedicated to Scatizzi is the first of a series that the Fondazione Ragghianti will dedicate to its own collection of artworks – more than 600 among paintings, sculptures, engravings, drawings and photographs – donated to the Fondazione Ragghianti by the many artists who, over years, wanted to express their esteem and friendship towards Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti at first, then to Pier Carlo Santini, the first director of the institution, and recently (as the donation Prencipe and Borgonzoni) donated to the foundation to testify the acknowledgment for the increasingly important role in the cultural and artistic promotion of the Fondazione dedicated to Ragghianti and his wife.
The more than 70 artworks shown in the exhibition, follow the whole artistic story of Sergio Scatizzi and belong collections, different for story and choices.
The first collection, displayed entirely for the first time, is part of the art collections of the Fondazione Ragghianti.
The second one, instead, shows the story of esteem and friendship that, for more than thirty years, accompanied the artist and one of his devoted collectors, Giuliano Innocenti, who gathered over the time, hundreds of paintings and drawings by Scatizzi.
