For the second year running Pietrasanta hosts “Homo Faber | Mind and Hand”, an event that showcases the skills of local artisans.
The exhibits are on show in a number locations including the Cathedral Square, Church and cloister of S. Agostino, Piazza Crispi, MUSA, and on the coastline – with sculptures by artists of the Polveriera.
The works of bronze, marble, mosaic, inlay, ceramic and terracotta, alongside the specialised tools for sculpting, conservation and restoration, will be on show from 15 June to 14 July, accompanied by images of the artisans at work by the Polish photographer Henryk Hetflaisz.
There are also a number of additional parallel events: “open labs”, craft workshops open to the public; “radical design” (until 22 July) – dedicated to architecture; and themed documentaries, created in collaboration with the Museum Pecci in Prato, Museion in Bolzano and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Vienna.
The exhibition is open Tuesday – Sunday 9.00 – 24.00 (closed Monday)
