The IAM (International Academy of Music) is an organisation that was founded in New York in 1991 with the aim of organizing festivals that combine both high-level concerts and specialisation courses in music.
For the last twenty years it has organised the Summit Music Festival in New York, and since 2000 it has expanded this venture in Europe, giving rise to three sister events in Spain, Italy and Russia.
In Italy, the Academy has chosen the small town of Casteluovo di Garfagnana rather than a large city to host this event, that each year is graced by the presence of internationally famous artists from all over the world.
