“Heavenly Creatures”, by the Versilia born sculptor David Paolinetti, will be on show at Palazzo Panichi in Pietrasanta from 24 August to 8 September.
The exhibition of drawings and sculptures of ceramic and bronze by this Italian artist forms parts of the “Contemporary Pietrasanta” event, promoted by the local authorities in collaboration with the Visual Arts Centre Foundation.
These works can be considered high impact art; a marriage of craft traditions, tracing back the artist to homo faber, in line with the Versilia summer exhibitions, with a innovative and more engaging character of the finished work. It is possible to note the presence of contemporary influences such as the post-human, pop and underground movements.
These works banish the idea of art as a “heavenly” product, choosing to offer us creatures that are a fearlessly diverse display of crude realism rather than indulging in easy and false aesthetic embellishments.
The exhibition “Heavenly creatures” will be open to the public every day except Mondays, from 19.00 to 23.30.
