The Cluster Association Lucca – European Composers, funded by the Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation, presents the “Autumn Season” – a rich programme of events to promote appreciation of music in all its forms.

From 21 December to 26 January, BML Foundation exhibition halls:

New composition entitled “Geometrie silenti” (Silent Geometries), composed by Giampietro Manfred as a soundtrack for the painting exhibition by Giampaolo Talani. The event is part of a collaboration project between Cluster and the painting and sculpture exhibitions promoted by Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation. At present this synergy has produced five new compositions, each one accompanying an exhibition, by Cluster composers, Francesco Cipriano, Stefano Giannotti, Girolamo Deraco, Saverio Rapezzi and Giampietro Manfred.

Thursday 7 November, BML Foundation Auditorium:

“Terra Madre, terra mare”

duo Brizzi-Reis (electronics and vocals).

Traditional Brazilian folk music, refined.

Friday 15 November Angeli Custodi Oratory:

“The Rite of Spring” by Igor Strawinsky, revision for piano four hands.

The duo Rossella Spinosa and Alessandro Calcagnile, will give an introduction to the listening of this famous piece.

Thursday 21 November, BML Foundation Auditorium:

Presentation of the new CD by Stefano Giannotti “Il giardino disincantato” (The disenchanted garden) with a performance entitled “Osservatorio delle terre Emerse”.

Saturday 30 November, Angeli Custodi Oratory:

Homage to Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner.

Premiere of compositions written by: Francesco Cipriano, Girolamo Deraco, Mauro Fabbri, Federico Favali and Giorgio Lazzarini.

Performed by the Etymos Ensemble:

Mauro Fabbri: conductor and pianoforte

Matteo Cammisa: marimba

Nicola Bimbi: oboe

Valeria Barsanti: violin

Roberto Presepi: cello

Thursday 5 December, Angeli Custodi Oratory:
“From Italy to Europe”.

The show forms part of an exchange programme between Cluster and a concert association from Berlin, with a programme that includes the performance of contemporary pieces by Lucca-born authors.

Girolamo Deraco and Federico Favali alternate with additional pieces by Schumann, Poulenc, etc… for clarinet and pianoforte, interpreted by Tony Capula and Gerd Rosinsky.

The association was conceived as having the aim of contributing to the development of contemporary music capable of recreating a healthy and fruitful relationship with the public, a music with classical origins but open to influences from the world of jazz, pop and the avant-garde.
