“Seggiola. Tavolo. Pietra – La forma della lettura, la sostanza della scrittura” is the title of the series of events organised by the Sirio Giannini Study Centre and Circuito OFF collective. In the evocative setting of the Gran Ducal Stables of the Medici palazzo in Seravezza (UNESCO heritage site), the literary hall is accompanied by an exhibition of work by Italian and international artists.

The series of cultural meetings will be opened, Sunday 10 November at 17.30, by Massimiliano Merler who will interview the writer Francesca Duranti.

Author of a number of successful novels, including the well-known “La casa sul lago della luna” (1984), to date Duranti has written12 novels published by Rizzoli e Marsilio, translated into 18 languages, and received various awards including the Premio Bagutta, Martina Franca, Basilicata, Super Campiello, Città di Milano, Hemingway, Rapallo, Castiglioncello and Prix des lectrices de “Elle” (Rouen).

16 November, Alessandro Viti interviews Romano Luperini, Italian literature critic, university professor and figure in Italian politics in the 60s and 70s.

The last event is Saturday 23 November, when Fabio Tonacci, journalist for the Repubblica, presents his detailed examination of Italian healthcare, entitled La mangiatoia (The Trough): published by Mondadori, and co-written with Michele Bocci.
