1 – 23 February, The Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation is exhibiting works by painter Isabel Pacini.
The Lucca-adopted, Belgian artist has become fascinated by the camellias that tinge Lucca’s surrounding hills with colour, flowering while still in grips of winter, suggesting an anticipation of life and rebirth.
The exhibition consists of twenty-five canvases, far removed from the classic canons of “still life”, with which Pacini immerses the viewer into the heart of the flower to fully savour their strength and beauty.
“Cuore di camelie” also foretastes the cultural show “Antiche Camelie della Lucchesia”, organised by Capannori Town Council, this year celebrating its 25th edition in March, also reflected by the same number of canvases being on show.
Free admission every day from 15.30 to 19.30. Also open Saturday and Sunday morning from 10.00 to 13.00.
