Loosely based on Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare,

directed by Carlo Boso.

The subject of Gli Amanti della Rocca is loosely based on Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare and the tragedy of Paolo and Francesca told by Dante in his Divine Comedy.

To render the theatrical action more up-to-date and varied, new characters have been added to the original plots which enrich the scenario constructed on the classic canons of the Italian Comedy, made up of intrigue, love, misunderstanding and dramatic turn of events.
