“A Long Day” – time stands still in the installation by Chiharu Shiota

"A Long Day" - il tempo si congela nell'installazione di Chiharu Shiota / "A Long Day" - time stands still in the installation by Chiharu Shiota

The inauguration of the new installation by Chiharu Shiota, curated by Franziska Noti, will take place Saturday 24 May, 4pm, in the SPE of the Tenuta dello Scompiglio.

The work “A Long Day” has been specially created for this space by the Japanese artist and presents some of the most incisive aspects of his work, uniting installation, sculpture and performance in a condensed space-time dimension.

With “A Long Day” Shiota uses strands of black wool that intertwine in an extensive process that condenses into a thick weaving, making the space impenetrable. The installation encloses a table and chair around which endless papers and letters float, frozen in time.

The work is on show until 28 September, 2014.
