“Zoodòchos Pegé” MARIA Sorgente di Vita (Mary Spring of Life) is the title of the musical programme that VoxAlia.ensemble Cantori Lucca and maestro Livio Picotti chose for the concert held Sunday 25 at 17.30, as part of the exhibition “Il fiume, le mura, la città” (The river, the Walls, the Town) by Lucca-born artists Annamaria Buonamici and Marco Messina.
After the success of Liszt’s Via Crucis’ performance on 12 April, VoxAlia.ensemble Cantori Lucca continues with this concert that presents a rich and refined repertoire, dedicated to the Virgin Mother, with pieces ranging from Gregorian and medieval monody to Renaissance polyphony.
The Sixteenth Century oratory of San Giuseppe in Piazza Antelminelli will resonate with the event’s profound spirituality and deeply felt devotion, expressed through the chief instrument of vocalism.
