“Fragile – Handle with care”: Nathasha Yalyisheva retells the inconsistency of a forced cultural revolution

From 5 July to 5 October, “Fragile – Handle with care”, the exhibition of work by Nathasha Yalyisheva will be on show at the Lu.C.C.A, Lucca Centre of Contemporary Art.

Originally from Siberia, the painter examines the Chinese Peoples’ Republic and its connections with Russia.

The precise historical moment that interests her is that of a cultural revolution that doesn’t develop at the grassroots level, in a gradual way, but is forcedly imposed through dictatorship. The artist’s attention is drawn to examining the sense and dynamics of power and how too often it is imposed with force and deception, but is also simultaneously a manifestation of fragility, synonymous with insecurity and inconsistency.
