A year after the death of John Bellany, Barga celebrates the Scottish painter with a triple exhibition of his work.
From 12 July to 14 September, the Rocche e Fortificazioni Museum, the Ricci Foundation and the Piazza S. Rocco “Gallery”, open to the public with the anthology exhibition “A Voyage to Barga”.
The exhibition consists of numerous large oil paintings, from local landscape, still-life, childhood seaside memories and portrait, to choral scenes, in whose human figures and interiors are mixed with the painter’s inner narrative.
The event is sponsored by the Ministry for Heritage, Culture and Tourism, the Senate of the Republic, the Local Authorities of Barga and Molazzana, the Provincial Authorities of Lucca, the Cassa di Risparmio Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce of Lucca, the Regional Authorities of Tuscany and the Giovanni Pascoli Foundation.
