“In the shadows”, exhibition of work by Daniela Caciagli

The inauguration of “In the shadows”, the exhibition of work by the painter Daniela Caciagli, will be held Friday 15 August 2014, 17.00, at the Foyer of the Grand Theatre ‘Giacomo Puccini’ in Torre del Lago.

The Leghorn-born artist has a rich and broad experience participating in numerous exhibitions, this time in parallel with the Puccini festival.

Daniela Caciagli’s oils and acrylics mix elements from the Pop and Hyperrealist movements, as well as ideas taken from advertising and comics. The painter depicts our contemporaneity in a virtual world where people, despite physically sharing the same spaces, fail to communicate with one another and remain closed in their solitude. The figures, almost shadows, lacking any facial features, express a strong social message: the challenge of finding one’s own identity, free from mass-models, like a warning against the overriding void in today’s society.

The exhibition, organised by the Puccini Festival Foundation in collaboration with the Mercurio Contemporary Art Gallery in Viareggio, is accompanied by a brochure with an introduction by Gianni Costa.

The exhibition runs until 14 September 2014: Monday to Friday, 10.00 – 13.30 / 15.00 – 18.00; Saturday and Sunday (August), 17.00 – 19.30.

The exhibition is open for the opera shows’ evenings and will be open to the audience of those.
