The Lucca Film Festival is a cinema season held at the start of the autumn at Cinema Centrale and San Girolamo Theatre, in the centre of Lucca. The main aim of the festival is to promote the awareness and diffusion of new and interesting work by international artists, while rediscovering and screening ‘historical’ films that have shaped artistic cinema – a meeting point between the past and present.
As usual, the international short-film competition will be an important section of the festival. This, the festival’s tenth year, with previous editions having hosted and been dedicated to key figures such as Abel Ferrara, Tsai Ming-Liang, i Fratelli Taviani, Jonas Mekas, Kenneth Anger and many more, chooses David Lynch as its protagonist.
The event runs from 28 September to 3 October and features the entire retrospective of films by the American director-screenplayer-producer (also accompanied by his photography exhibition in Pietrasanta).
Meetings, exhibitions and talks also enrich what will be another unmissable edition of the Lucca film festival.
