3,4 and 5 October, at 21.00, in the Duomo di Barga, the American Elements Theatre Company will perform a selection of mysteries: one of the earliest forms of theatre in Medieval Europe.
“Il Marmo si fa carne”, the title of the performance, examining the theme of the “Bearer of Christ” of Barga, is centred on the saints Christopher and Frances and the reasons for the artistic decoration of the Cathedrals’s historical ambo, including the Annunciation, Visitation, Birth of Christ and Visit of the Magi. The mysteries will be performed in latin and interspersed with ancient music.
Elements Theatre Company is composed of 16 actors, from the Community of Jesus in Massachusetts, USA. Elements Theatre Company has studied in North and South America and Europe and boasts a wide and varied repertoire.
