Saturday 15 November at 16.00 the SPE of the Tenuta dello Scompiglio sees the inauguration of the exhibition “Dove il cielo è più vicino“, the site-specific project by the Tuscan artist Moira Ricci, curated by Emanuela De Cecco.
Dove il cielo è più vicino (Where the Sky is Closer) consists of a series of photographs and two videos focusing on the earth. A socially engaged project that spotlights an earth in crisis, ever less cultivated, ever more abandoned by the farmers who are no longer able to make a living from their labor. It is also, in the artist’s words, “a prayer to the sky, but also a threat to who controls us from above, a portrait of farms that have lost their identity and meaning, an attempted fleeing and at the same time the impossibility of escape itself”.
The exhibition runs until 28 February, from Thursday to Sunday. Hours 14.00-18.00, or by appointment.
