The exhibition Aspro e dolce is on show from 24 January at the Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation, in the old town centre. Watercolours by Tista Meschi.
The Lucca painter and teacher, among the best contemporary water-colourists, exhibits numerous landscapes. Local features and scenes emerge from his paintings in a blissful, placid solitude that reawakens personal and nostalgic memories.
“Meschi paints the landscapes of his land with a knowing hand – explains the president of the Foundation, Alberto Del Carlo – that is manifested in the easy application of colour, the rigour of the compositions, the measured harmony of the scenes and the originality of the perspectives and atmospheres“.
Aspro e dolce is open every day, with free admission, and runs until 15 February. Hours:
Mon – Fri: 15.30 – 19.30
Sat-Sun: 10.00 – 13.00 / 15.30 -19.30.
