Lucca Film Festival 2015: quattro mostre per celebrare David Cronenberg / Lucca Film Festival 2015 - four exhibitions dedicated to David Cronenberg

The Lucca Film Festival is a cinema season held at Cinema Centrale and San Girolamo Theatre, in the centre of Lucca.

The eleventh edition of the Lucca Film Festival, that from this year unites with the European Cinema Festival of Viareggio, is dedicated to the Canadian director, producer and screenwriter David Cronenberg. The event runs from 15 to 21 March and features a retrospective of Cronenberg’s films.

The international exhibitions dedicated to him, organised by the New Events Committee for Lucca in partnership with the Festival and produced by the Toronto International Film Festival and daVolumina in Turin, will run from 15 February to 3 May.

• The exhibition Evolution, which includes over a hundred props, costumes, drawings, sketches, photos and unreleased films, is on show at the Ragghianti Foundation, in the old town centre, with an annexed special section entitled M.Butterfly, in the Puccini Museum Casa Natale. Curated by Piers Handling, director of the Toronto International Film Festival, and Noah Cowan, artistic director of the TIFF Bell Lightbox.

Red Cars, a multimedia installation dedicated to Ferrari and the world of racing, based on the publication of 2005, screenplay for the never made film, is on show at the State Archive (ex-Macelli) in Lucca. Curated by Domenico De Gaetano, director of Volumina, and Alessandro Romanini.

• 70 frames chosen by Cronenberg from his most famous films make up the exhibition Chromosomes, on show at the GAMC in Viareggio and curated by D. De Gaetano and A. Romanini.
