The exhibition “Giorgio Michetti: un secolo d’arte” opens Saturday 7 March at 17.30 at Palazzo della Cultura in Stazzema in Cardoso, organised by the Culture Office of Stazzema Town Council.
More than 50 works showcase the artistic expression of Giorgio Michetti, painter and graphic artist born in Viareggio in 1912: from the works that he painted at the age of seventeen for the exhibition of 1929 at Castiglioncello, to the present day. Michetti has an impressive artistic production of over 2,500 works, the most important of which have been selected by the artist himself for the Cardoso exhibition, ranging from paintings, frescos, sculpture and anamorphosis, that document his incessant search for a personal pictorial language. He draws our attention to his continual experimentation with technique and ever new and diverse ways of expression, that Michetti himself defines as “didactics”.
The exhibition at Palazzo della Cultura in Cardoso runs until Sunday 3 May.
Hours: from Thursday to Sunday 16:00 – 19:00.
