The inauguration of the exhibition “Il Diavolo in Toscana” (The Devil in Tuscany), curated by Stefano Giraldi, will be held Saturday 27 June at 17:30, at Villa Bottini. The satirical exhibition is centred around the masks and the characters, real or legendary, of Tuscany; from the little rascals to more mysterious or frightening characters.
The exhibition is divided into 4 sections and involves numerous prestigious artists, showing original work.
The villa park will host a number of sculptures, including a 1.80m Pinocchio from the Carlo Collodi Foundation, while inside there are seventeen drawings by important artists and cartoonists.
The inauguration will be attended by the mayor of Lucca Alessandro Tambellini, Professor Carlo Pedretti, the greatest historian on Leonardo da Vinci in the world, Professor Ugo Barlozzetti, art critic and historian, and the artists Sergio Staino, Lido Contemori and Giuliano Rossetti.
The opening also features the performance of an excellent band, with Vittorio De Scalzi, Ellade Bandini, Cristiano Angelini, Marco Spiccio and Andrea Garavelli. Hosted by Daniele Lucca.
The exhibition runs, with admission free, until 2 August.
