Leggera Materia/Light Matter – summer 2015 at the MuSA

The MuSA, the Virtual Museum of Sculpture and Architecture in Pietrasanta, 13 June, presents Leggera Materia, the by now traditional series of summer events, that sees exhibitions and screenings in the beautiful setting of the ex marble workshop until September. The museum, directed by Massimo Marsili, returns this year to offer a different way of talking about art, sculpture and architecture in relation to a specific region, that of marble, where it was born three years ago.

The inauguration of Leggera Materia is 13 June, with a series of screenings (Scolpire il tempo. L’artigianato, l’arte, la conoscenza) organised by Alessandro Romanini from the Visual Art’s Centre Foundation in Pietrasanta. The audiovisual exhibition runs until 28 June, with evening screenings every weekend. 4 July sees the start of the exhibition Rumore bianco by Giorgio Brogi and curated by Enrico Mattei. An environmental installation that until 19 July retells the history of marble through sculpture, painting and video. Lastly, on 24 July, the annual exhibition of the CNA Lucca opens, dedicated, as always to art and design of local marble workers. This edition is entitled Le Mani. Eccellenze in Versilia. Evocazioni – Arte e design nel marmo, and runs until 6 September.
