Second phase of the solo exhibition by Maurizio Donzelli entitled “Diramante#2”, that Eduardo Secci Contemporary hosts in its gallery spaces: first in Florence and now in Pietrasanta, from 13 June to 8 August.
The exhibition is curated by Bartholomew F. Bland, who curated “American Dreamers”, held at Palazzo Strozzi in 2012.
Unfolding along the fil rouge of the concept of beauty in contemporary art, the exhibition examines how the most recent works by Donzelli put the artist at the heart of the debate and international literature, in a professional art world that, after having disregarded the concept of “beauty” for decades, has now gradually begun to make it its own again.
The poetical elements of Donzelli’s work are concentrated on certain focal points of the artistic process: the sketch, the image as revelation, the inescapable presence of the observer in the definition of the work, the relation between light and colour. As well as an interview with the artist, the catalogue incorporates a comprehensive essay by Bland on the show and the place these pieces hold within the Eduardo Secci Contemporary collection.
Hours: every day 10.00-13.00 / 17.00-24.00 Free admission.
