“Da Parigi a Lucca: il gusto di vivere al tempo di Napoleone e Elisa” nona edizione de "Le conversazioni Napoleoniche" / “From Paris to Lucca: living in the times of Napoleon and Elisa” nineth edition of "Napoleonic conversations"

This summer sees the return of “Napoleonic Conversations“: three evenings that reveal the lesser known details of the story of Napoleon.
At 200 years since the defeat of Waterloo, the three evenings of 17, 18 and 19 August discuss the practical details of the battle and the consequences of the defeat.
The free evening events are held in the Cloister of San Micheletto Church at 21.30.

Monday 17: “A Waterloo… in carrozza” (To Waterloo… by coach) by Velia Gini Bartoli and Simonetta Giurlani Pardini. How did the emperor travel? What means of transport did he use after the defeat? Designer, inventor, strategist, Napoleon could only have a means of transport that lived up to his requirements, such that he usually designed it himself, employing his coach-builder Paul Getting to make his creations.

Tuesday 18: “Chi ha perso davvero a Waterloo? La Gran Bretagna tra le campane della vittoria e la vicenda di Peterloo” (Who really lost at Waterloo? Great Britain between the victory bells and Peterloo) by Peter Hicks, university lecturer in history, historian and person in charge of international relations of the Napoleon Foundation in Paris.

Wednesday 19: “Napoleone in guerra: l’occhio della cinepresa tra le divise insanguinate” (Napoleon at war: the camera’s eye among the bloody uniforms) by Pier Dario Marzi, in partnership with Cineforum Cinit Ezechiele 25,17.
