The Festival Shakespeare celebrates its eleventh year with a new location: from Viareggio it has moved to Capannori, at the sala Artè, where this year’s performances will be staged.
A rich programme for young theatre fans, with texts recited in their original language by Italian and foreign theatre companies. As well as works by the great British playwright, this year also includes readings of selected parts of Dante’s Inferno translated into English, as part of an ongoing cultural exchange. Comedy, sonnet and tragedy, short films, music and bilingual literary contest; all this and more, for the entire duration of the festival that begins 24 August and runs until the end of the month.
