Children of all ages are invited to spend a fun-filled afternoon in the company of the beautiful puppets of Gionata Francesconi.
The artist and Carnival floats creator Gionata Francesconi builds, collects and restores puppets since he was a boy. In his small traveling theater he invents fantastic stories in which good is opposed to evil, and after various adventures the heroes of the moment defeat the evil restoring the pre-established order.
His passion for the Puppet theater started in Viareggio, in the Ponente pinewood, where, as a child, he attended Master puppeteer Serafino Bianchi (Gioves) learning one of the most fascinating and extraordinary arts.
During the show the audience and especially the children are repeatedly invited to participate, becoming themselves part of the show. Screaming loudly the sounds of the animals suggested by the puppeteer, children must warn their favorites of the arrival of the villians.
The liberating scream of the children, according to psychologist Irma Morieri, who has joined Francesconi in this adventure, possesses high therapeutic connotations and is a valuable aid to the cognitive development of young spectators.
