The Jane Austen Society Florence is a group of history lovers, dance, good food, beautiful historical clothes and a desire for good company.
Once a year they incotrano in Italy for a late Napoleonic week that ends with a grand ball in costume.
This year they chose Lucac 150 dancers from all over Europe who visit the Napoleonic places of the province in a weekend organized in collaboration with Lucca and Barga Bagni municipalities.
During the cultural stay you can meet them in vintage dress walking the streets of Lucca, Bagni di Lucca and Barga, during their visits to places of Elisa and take part in some initiatives. The nineteenth-century dress is de rigueur!
During the event, there are some events, to allow everyone back in time.
L'Atelier de Danse Florence, with twenty students in Napoleonic costume, leads the dances of the period at the Palace: live music – contredanse and waltzes composed for dance parties in the imperial palaces of the early nineteenth century – are performed under the direction of Valentino Zangara.
