"Museums and Cultural Landscapes" is the theme proposed for Amico 2016 Museum, a project involving numerous museums for three weeks in Tuscany with special dedicated initiatives.
From 14 May to 5 June museums of Tuscany open their doors to welcome children and adults with guided tours, presentations of works, special exhibitions, workshops, entertainment.
On 21 May, the museums of alla of Europe will be open with night time, for the Night of Museums.
The Cresci museum for the history of Italian emigration,, joins with a long day of inziativ culminating in the extraordinary opening until 23:00.
At 17:30, there will be the presentation of the book “Il vapore di Sassonia camminava come il vento- emigrazione, bambini assistenza a Lucca a fine Ottocento” (The steam Saxony walked like the wind- emigration, Child Care in Lucca in the late nineteenth century) written by Maria Virgina Paradisi.

The exhibition space hosts a priceless documentary corpus of documents and photographs of the migratory phenomenon and offers the visitor the chance to retrace the migratory experience through its various stages and its vicissitudes. It is a path that will intrigue the visitor both Italian and foreign artists through film clips, documents, objects, posters, letters, the great transatlantic travel passports and tickets in the last century, transported Italians to seek his fortune in Ocean beyond.
