The villa of Torre del Lago, designed as a hunting lodge, was built starting from 1821 by the court architect Lorenzo Nottolini the Duchess of Lucca Maria Luisa of Bourbon–Spain. Were thus created three separate buildings, each with three floors, with the central one intended to manor house and the side as stables, warehouses and service buildings. The park, which today is part of the natural reserve park called Migliarino–San Rossore–Massaciuccoli at the locality today called Lecciona, was cut from the great avenue of Linden.
The visit takes us back in time, through a fascinating dialogue between historical figures, to relive the birth of the city and the Bourbon estate, up to the present day.
The Association Ville Bourbon and historic homes of Versilia organizes guided tours dramatized guided tour, with guides in period costumes at Villa Borbone in Viareggio on sunday on a monthly basis.
