SPIRITI OSTINATI

Versilia, land of art and artists, is preparing to host from June 4 to September 15, 2016, in the premises of Villa La Versiliana in Marina di Pietrasanta, the exhibition "Spiriti ostinati" by sculptor Matteo Pugliese (Milan, 1969 ). The exhibition presents approximately thirty recent works.

The exhibition is curated by Imago Art Gallery from Lugano with the artistic coordination of the Versiliana Foundation, and is part of the larger project S.T.ART (Save Tourism & Art) sponsored by the city of Pietrasanta.

At the park entrance, the monumental sculpture Die Mauer – over 6 meters high -,  will open the exhibition. The sculputre was created in 2009 for the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

In the villa are on display the other works distinguishable in three series: the classic bronzes, I Custodi (the Keepers), imposing rounded  characters in bronze, often with terracotta inserts. Finally, the third set is gli Scarabei  (the Beetles), aluminum and ceramic sculptures, which repersent the artist's tribute to his youth.

The exhibition will open Saturday, June 4 at 16:30 and is presented by the art critic Philippe Daverio.
