The Art Gallery located inside the Town Hall responds to a project aimed at enhancing the artists featured on the municipal area and to make art and culture accessible to all citizens.
From Saturday 11giugno, exhibition of the painter Emilio Cavani, born in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana.
Restorer and carver of wood, comes from childhood of pictorial sensibility, he began its activities in the 60 interpreting the social tensions of the time and hard work of the marble workers.
In the 80s his attention and his paintings are addressed to the landscape of the Apuan Alps which is a great connoisseur.

Has had as teachers and landmarks painters Gino Bertoncini, Angelo Roberto Fiori, Vasco Cavani Angelo Scapanini.
His paintings have been appreciated by Fosco Maraini with which Cavani has been linked by close friendship until the death of noted anthropologist and writer.
The Apuan Alps are represented by Cavani in an analytical dimension (could serve oer a mountaineering guide) that fades, however, in a mysterious and poignant magic.
Cavani has participated in numerous exhibitions extemporaneous getting reports and awards (including the first prize as a painter garfagnino in 2004). He has exhibited his paintings in numerous solo and group exhibitions at local and national character. His works are in private collections, as well as in Italy, Australia, Japan, Canada, the United States, in Scotland, in England.
Some of his works were commissioned by the University of Vermont, (Department of Art).
