A tribute exhibition to the Tuscan artist who throughout his life maintained a strong link with the territory of Versilia.
The exhibition traces, also from a biographical point of view, the first 30 years of the artist's life (Florence 1900-1988), from his debut as a child prodigy, to the early summer holidays in Viareggio, in 1914 and 1915, when he established contacts with Nomellini , Chini, Viani and Pea; from the studies on Cézanne, to the Roman Futurist period during which Conti established relationships with Balla, Soffici, Rosai. From 1920 the artist returned to a more classic and simple style, approaching personalities like De Chirico and De Pisis. In the 30s, finally, Conti got married and left Viareggio to return to his hometown Florence where he devoted himself to an intimate and almost private painting.
The exhibition, curated by Nadia Marchioni is divided into six sections: Biography of a child prodigy; Early masterpieces of a young colorist; Reflection on Cezanne; The Futurist period; Return to order and The Thirties.
The inauguration will take place Saturday, July 9 at 18:00 h.
