The dining chair is a source of inspiration for the theme of this exhibition.
The chair, was chosen as the tool of creative expression, as "common" in everyone's life, so as to involve an ever wider section of people, who sometimes find contemporary art a bit 'disconcerting.
One of the main objectives of this exhibition was (and is) to encourage increased participation and real involvement in the wonderful and colorful world of art, and in particular, the rediscovery of a creativity that relates to the small elements of the community in which we live.
The Garfagnana is characterized by a great abundance of these ancient, simple and humble chairs. Stored away, hidden in cellars and warehouses of most homes, these chairs, waiting to be called back to the table for a party or family gathering.
No matter whether impromptu or planned well in advance, drinking and partying or simply, meet around a table to eat, it is definitely an inherent feature of our local cultural heritage, where the chair plays a key role.
The days of the exhibition will be accompanied by a free snack of local products through the streets of the country, and animated by the Folk Group "The Muffrina".
