Tribute to the composer Alfredo Catalani in the unique setting of Chestnut Museum in the house where he repeatedly stayed the composer, the work of sculptor Nicola Biagini from Lucca.
Concert in memory of Alfredo Catalani's death will be held at the Museo del Castagno, where, for about two years, was set up a room-museum dedicated to the musician.
The permanent exhibition contains 36 handwritten letters and postcards to the original Alfredo Catalani, regarding a correspondence took place from 1881 to 1893, between the musician and colleague Ugo Bassani in Venice; correspondence from which you can learn 13 years of almost unknown musician's life.
Also on display are various photographs and memorabilia depicting the musician, including a bust by Aurelio Franceschi in 1897 and a showcase where stands a Maria Callas dress, used to tour in New York by "divine."
At the end of the concert we will be offered a snack buffet in the town square, typical conprodotti of the place.
