Puccini e la fanciulla (Puccini and the Girl) is a film by Paolo Benvenuti of Pisa in 2008.
The story, set in Torre del Lago nel1908 is that of Giacomo Puccini and the beautiful Giulia, the local waitress, who became, soon, the lover.
Meanwhile the young man on duty at home Puccini, Doria Manfredi, and lover of the composer's cousin, discovered illegal loves of the master's stepdaughter, Fosca. The latter, that Doria does not report the fact to the stepfather, induces the mother to believe that this is the lover of Puccini. Elvira Puccini, therefore, implements its revenge against Doria, which actually served as Jailbird between Puccini and Giulia cousin, through fierce quarrels and ill-treatment. The increasingly harsh treatment of the lady Doria leads to suicide. It will be only the doctor's expert pathologist to evaluate the truth.
After the screening the director Paolo Benvenuti will be present for a meeting with the public.
