The hangar number 8 of the Carnival Citadel welcomes until the end of September a selection of the finest works by the painter and great magician of papier mache, Carlo Vannucci, aka Bocco: paintings from the years of captivity, during the war, glimpses of Viareggio docks, still lifes and a selection of portraits.
Furthermore visitors can admire the result of his work as float constructor synthesized in a careful selection of sketches made for the Carnival. Memorable allegorical works, that have always fascinated the public of Viareggio's Carnival. Among these there are also unpublished sketches of imagined, but never realized, wagons.
Last but not least some unpublished photographs depicting Vannucci in private, with his family, and at work, will be on display.
