Uto Ughi was born in Busto Arsizio, Italy. He began his career as a violinist at the age of six years at the school of music Giovanni Battista Pergolesi in Varese under the guidance of Ariodante Coggi. At the age of seven years he debuted at the Teatro Lirico imposing immediately to the attention of critics and audience as an extraordinary talent.
He is considered one of the leading exponents of the Italian violin school and is one of the greatest contemporary artists.
In addition to the many public concerts given both in Italy and abroad and to the numerous tours, Uto Ughi is also a key player in the culture of animation; he is in fact founder and organizer of several festivals, events and music festivals.
Among the violins of his property there are two extremely valuable tools: the Van Houten-Kreutzer Stradivari from 1701, which belonged to the homonymus violinist to whom Beethoven dedicated his Sonata in A major op.47, and the Guarneri del Gesù Cariplo-Hennel- Rosé from 1744, which belonged to Arthur Grumiaux.
