NEW YEAR'S CONCERT – Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra

For the traditional New Year's event the Teatro del Giglio will be invaded by gypsy atmospheres with a concert by the Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra (also known as the "Hundred Violins Gypsies"); the team as a guest of concert halls and theaters around the world in its traditional organic strings, clarinets and cimbalom – will be engaged in Lucca in a festive performance, enhanced by a special and exclusive tribute to Giacomo Puccini.

 

The Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra is an internationally known company that was founded thirty years ago, and is a group that sounds like a classical orchestra symphony: a unique formation in the world. The activities of the training preserves the tradition of a musical heritage of unmatched value. In addition to a classical repertoire, which includes Liszt, Bartók, Kodály, Hubay, Erkel, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Sarasate, Strauss, the orchestra also performs traditional Hungarian gypsy music and Hungarian folk melodies and songs.

 

The Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra takes care of tradition thanks to its unique and special arrangements, but in his performances are also the most modern experimentation of music in the world today. The orchestra is now made up of 138 members.
