Puccini e la sua Lucca Festival is once again the protagonist of the New Year's Eve in Lucca with a large event that, after all the successes achieved in previous years, promises to repeat itself and amaze.
Four concerts with the participation of nearly 100 artists: an opportunity that enhances the music and the show, however, enclosing exclusive performers nationwide.
A triple cultural bridge between Italy – with its opera tradition – Argentina – with the great tango, played and danced by the magnificent Hyperion Tango Orquestra and the tangueros – and with Scotland, which responds with the national exclusive presence of the band 1° Battalion Scots Guards, together with Highlanders dancers, the bagpipes and the drums, under the direction of Pipe major Mark MacRae and with the special presence of the main British Army Bagpipe, Ross McCrindle (Scots Guards).
The evening is organized in collaboration with the Teatro del Giglio, Lucca Philharmonic Orchestra, Puccinimusic web channel and the General Command of the Royal Guard in London.

21:15 h.
Opera Grand Gala: arias and duets from the masterpieces of Puccini and Verdi, to which will be added Neapolitan songs. Diego Fiorini (piano), Simone Frediani (tenor), Francesca Maionchi and Deborah Vincenti (soprano).
22:15 h.
Hyperion Tango Orquestra y Tangueros: tangos and choreography directly from Buenos Aires.
22:30 h.
The Band of bagpipes, drums and Highland dancers of the 1st battalion of the Scots Guards from Buckingham Palace, the British Army Major Bagpipes Major, PM Ross Mc Crindle – Scots Guards: exclusively in Italy will perform marches, arias and traditional Scottish dances.
23:50 / 2:00 h.
Grand finale with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lucca directed by Andrea Colombini: overtures, arias and duets from opera masterpieces by Giacomo Puccini and other great composers; marches and waltzes of the Strauss family of Vienna; tangos and Scottish marches arranged for orchestra and performed with all the performers. On stage 60 elements, together with soloists and Silvana Froli White Barsanti (soprano), Nicola Simone Mugnaini, Michael Stefano Alfonsi and Cresci (tenors).
It will be possible to enter the theater until 23:30 h., taking advantage of a single admittance which includes the midnight toast with a rich buffet of sweet and sparkling wines by a reknown pastry of Lucca.
