The cultural association Ville Borbone e dimore storiche della Versilia presents a cultural event organized by Maria Diana Parlagreco. On this occasion some original clothes from her private collection will be exposed.
Illustrations of paintings and prints regarding the transformation of female and male costumes at the turn of the two concerned centuries will be shown, but also the reference to music of two great Maestros Verdi and Puccini, representative figures of the period.
During the conference, fashion in Paris at the court of the Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III and an advocate of the use of crinoline, in the creations of the period, interesting details will be revealed about the evolution of costumes in the paintings of the most famous Impressionists: Manet, Monet, Renoir, the "Macchiaiolo" Silvestro Lega, De Nittis, and the most important Belle Epoque painter: Giovanni Boldini, the transformation of clothes during the era of "Liberty" and the characteristics of this new art nouveau movement, but also of Villa Tina and its beautiful stained glass windows will be discussed.
