Villa Argentina, Viareggio's Art Nouveau jewel, hosts every Wednesday afternoon a meeting between writers and readers. The event is promoted by 'Comitato per la valorizzazione di Villa Argentina' and is assisted by the 'Bookshop Lungomare' of Viareggio. To all participants will be offered an aperitif by 'Deltabevande Food Beverage Wine' from Massarosa and by Pasticceria Puccinelli Viareggio.
Today's book to be presented is "Il Souvenir" by Guido del Monte within the project "Maison Nouvelle Vague" started in 2016. Francesca, the protagonist of this novel, passes, touches and leaves her mark, as a employee in a dreary office, or as an attendant of a decadent beach club. She is the first to suffer the consequences of the storms she causes, storms inside a boule-de-neige. Nothing better than this gracious gift, represents our little provincial world, our shops, all those things at stubbornly remain after someone like Francesca is gone.
Guido Del Monte, born in 1969, in Tuscany. He made his debut with a drama in 1994, his play dedicated to Bukowski appeared on the Baubo magazine. In 2016 he creates the publishing project Maison Nouvelle Vague with: "Le Protagoniste", "Il Souvenir" (2017) – dedicated to the memory of Eric Rohmer – and "Costa West" is republished, the debut novel (Baroni editore) from 2000 already republished by the Cinquemarzo Editors in 2012.
The author will be present at the meeting. Introduction by Daniele Luti, Co-director of the fiction series "Incipit" of the editor ETS.
