Polifonica Lucchese celebrates 50 years of music. Among the founders, in 1967, there was also the Master Egisto Matteucci, who is the current tireless director of the choral and who in recent years has led Polifonica to perform in important concerts as well as in his main job that is to accompany The religious functions in the main festivities of the year in the churches of the parish of the Old Town.
Concert performances include Mozart's Waisenhaus Messe, Brahms German Requiem, Missa in Angustiis of Haydn, Beethoven's Mass in Mass, Mendelssoh's Lobgesang and Catalan Mass, while in the liturgical service the choir group draws Often to music of some or less ancient Lucchese authors (such as Giacomo Puccini senior), drawn from the rich archives of the city.
