The organ of rthe Badia di Camaiore was built by the manufacturer Mascioni with artistic advice of Lorenzo Ghielmi, a specialist in Baroque organ and baroque organ literature. In 1995 the attention of the national and international organ and music panorama and the awareness of the Town of Camaiore to own such an important instrument originated the Organ Festival "Città di Camaiore" in the charming and suggestive church of Badia.
The initial concert of this edition programmed today, Wednesday, July 5 at 9:15 pm is dedicated to the memory of Archbishop Emilio Maggini, from Camaiore, priest and musician.
His oratorio "Santa Chiara" will be performed by the Ars Maxima Choir, an organ of enthusiastic singers who come from various nearby cities and are often involved in the festival of Torre del Lago Puccini and in the theaters of various cities in Tuscany and Liguria. In addition to the Oratorio Santa Chiara, they also propose other music by various authors under the direction of Andrea Gorini (Livorno).
The XXII edition of the Festival presents a series of original proposals with renowned organists: David Franke (Naumburg), one of the most acclaimed contemporary improvisers at the organ, Hans Andrè Stamm (Dortmund), famous organist and composer; No less significant is the presence of Franz Hauk, Barry Jordan, Hans Leitner, respectively of the cathedrals of Ingolstadt, Magdeburg and Munich, today international concertists for organ music; Walter Gatti presents the eighth volume of Bach's current opera work, Stefano Manfredini is a promise in the Italian organist landscape, and finally Enrico Barsanti and Giulia Biagetti, who are the protagonists of the festival from several editions
