The Opera Barga festival hosts a local and International audience since 50 years and is now an important cultural event with the medieval town of Barga in its center, also if animating summer in the entire valley of the Serchio river side by side side with a festival of chamber music organized with dedication by famous musicians.
The festival has been created in 1967 on the initiative of Peter Hunt and Gillian Armitage, an actor and a British production designer who moved to Barga some time ago. The couple had the idea of using the Teatro dei Differenti of Barga to found an opera school that could give the opportunity to young singers, orchestras, conductors and stage designers to realize performances put on stage.
The program of the concert with free admission of tonight, Thursday July 27, is:
ore 21:30 –  Barga, Duomo – Opening concert In Furore Iustissimae Irae, Music by Antonio Vivaldi.  
In particular, it is a concert in Do Major RV 114 for bass and continuous bass – "In Iustissimae irae furore" RV 626 soprano, bows and low continuous motto. RV 157 Lower Bass Concert for Basses and Continuous Bass – "Laudate Pueri" RV 600 soprano, bows and low continuous motto.
