The presentation of the book Andavano alle figure con Canova e Donatello by Ave Marchi is much more than a historical-cultural initiative and informative about the history of Lucca's figurinai in central Europe in the nineteenth and twentieth century. The event, in fact, also marks the successful transition to the Museum Paolo Cresci for emigration history, housed in the building of the Province, the collection of plaster figures of Nannetti-Vincenti collection.
Valuable pieces that will complement the existing museum enriching copies in bronzed and ivory plaster documenting the production of copies of works of classical and Renaissance art in the period before the First World War. A corpus of pieces plaster that Prof. Valeria Marchi Fortini offered the Cresci Foundation for placing them in the Museum, reflecting a novel aspect of this activity and with respect for the will of the mother, Dr. Elvira Marchi Vincenti.
The presentation, sponsored by the Foundation Cresci in collaboration with the Province of Lucca, will see the participation of the author and will be curated by Laurina Busti and Laura Giambastiani.
