The great names of culture meet in Lucca for a series of lectures organized by the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, the oldest scientific Academy in the world which includes among its first members Galileo Galilei. The conferences cover a wide range of topics ranging from culture to urban planning, from the economy to the environment, from politics to education.
Also this year, events of great cultural and scientific interest designed for a wide audience, in the auditorium of the Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation in Piazza San Martino, introduced by Oriano Landucci, president of the Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation, Alberto Del Carlo, president of the Lucca Sviluppo Foundation and of the mayor of Lucca, Alessandro Tambellini.
Saturday 24 February at 18:00. Alan Friedman presents his latest book: "Dieci cose da sapere sull’economia italiana prima che sia troppo tardi” (Ten things to know about Italian economy before it's too late – Newton Compton Editori).
Friedman will tackle in 10 points topical issues such as: the public debt, the economic growth of Italy and the reduced job creation the truth about the Italian banking system, the Italian taxation system, the pensions' future, the financial markets , advantages and disadvantages of the European market, what votes we give to politicians and what the future holds.
Alan Friedman is a journalist expert on economics and politics, TV host and American writer. At the beginning of his career he was a very young collaborator in the administration of President Jimmy Carter, then for many years he was a correspondent for the Financial Times, later sent by the International Herald Tribune and a columnist for the Wall Street Journal. He is a conductor and producer of television programs in the United Kingdom, the United States and Italy, where he worked for titles such as RAI, Sky Tg24 and La7. He won the Rome Award for Non-Fiction 2017.
