Un quadro per rinascere

On June 29th, 2009, a horrific railway accident caused the death of 31 people in and around the station of Viareggio. One year on from the tragedy, the Spokesman for the Arts of the Town Council, in collaboration with the association Amici del Museo (Museum Friends) and the Telethon Committee have organized the “Un quadro per rinascere” (A picture for rebirth) project. This includes an exhibition, with more than 100 art works including painting, sculpture and video, on show at Villa Paolina, curated by Amici del Museo, from the 18th to 30th of June, 2010,
The works on show are to be auctioned in order to raise money for the families of the rail disaster victims .
There will be a catalogue/pamphlet of the donated works along with a selection of documentary images.. This publication, with the testimonies and images it contains, represents the symbol and will of the town of Viareggio to be reborn.
The exhibition is open every day, except Monday, from the 18th to 30th of June, from 18.00 to ore 23.00.
Those interested can participate in the charity auction from June 30th, 2010, held by Philippe Daverio.
