Conference “Sulle antiche strade tra la Repubblica di Lucca e il Granducato di Toscana”

On Friday, June 25th (21.00), a conference on “The old road network between the Republic of Lucca and the Grand Duchy of Tuscany” will be held at the Teatro dei Rassicurati di Montecarlo, promoted by the Cultural Association Vivinaia in collaboration with the Capannori Archaeological Group.

Through this meeting the promoters hope to increase public awareness of the historical road network between Lucchesia and Valdinievole, illustrating the local history and, where possible, salvage projects undertaken. Particular attention is given to Lucca’s “main postal road” (also known as old Cassia), that is currently in grave need of attention.
