Franco Bruna: il cinema della politica

The Museum of Satire, Forte dei Marmi, puts on a show dedicated to a master of Italian satire, Franco Bruna. His cinematographic billboards see the main protagonists of Italian politics play parts from the big screen.
There was a time when such cinematographic billboards were the only way to promote mainstream films. Great artists were employed in this genre of illustration, but no one had ever thought of substituting the Hollywood or Cinecittà actors with political figures.
The idea, which started as a joke in the weekly satirical newspaper “Emme”, enthused the Turin born illustrator who has since created a true gallery of great “fake” cinematographic successes.
