Cinema and the Carnival of Viareggio

From October 2 – 18, the exhibition “Il Carnevale di Viareggio e il cinema” will be held at Villa Paolina.
On show are over fifty original sketches that give account of the influence of cinema on the imagination of the creators of the floats and masks of Viareggio’s carnival. This exhibition is also accompanied by a selection of photographs of finished floats (from the 1920s to the present).
The exhibition, curated by Umberto Guidi and Paolo Fornaciari, was organised along with the Viareggio Carnival Foundation.
